In 2008, Sidcon delivered the first underground waste compactor for plastic, metal and drink cartons. Hot on its heels came the first underground compactor for residual waste and in 2019, the underground container for waste paper and cardboard In the meantime, we have also developed the Presstation Bin, an underground compactor which is able to empty a wheelie-bin. These are all innovative means of waste collection which are making the world a more sustainable place. Compactors need less frequent emptying and fewer of them are actually needed.
QUALITY ACHIEVED THROUGH LONG YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT
Quality is all about the details and the underground compactor has been improved right down to the last detail. This gives the compactor a robust design which results in less jamming and fewer disruptions. We have a commitment to making ongoing improvements and this manifests itself in the ‘loop of improvement’. In the first years of our existence, improvements were carried out on an almost weekly basis. This constant drive to enhance our products has taken us to where we are today. The result is a fully developed, fully fledged product. We still use ‘loop of improvement’ today, if not less frequently these days.
In-house engineering and production.
At Sidcon we develop and produce all our products in-house and work as much as possible with suppliers who work locally. This is a conscious choice on our part because it gives us more control of the quality of the overall production process. What’s more, we can implement improvements more quickly and launch new products on the market. In 2020, for example, we started marketing the FRESHSTATION organic for garden and organic waste for use in high-rise settings and will soon be introducing the Presstation Compact for the disposal of plastic waste in high-rise buildings.
Better waste separation in high-rise neighbourhoods.
The FRESHSTATION organic is installed indoors and is intended for the disposal of garden and organic waste. Because of its internal cooling, FRESHSTATION organic can be ideally installed in locations which residents pass every day, for example, the lobby of an apartment complex. Residents previously had a tendency to dispose of organic waste along with the residual waste. This new compactor means less wastage and better separation of organic waste, resulting in the retention of renewable resources.
The Presstation Compact is a low-threshold solution for the collection of waste plastic, metal and drink cartons in apartments and high-rise buildings. Use is made of a standard wheelie-bin, but one with a high capacity thanks to its compactor mechanism. Its compact design means that the container is suited to indoor use..
