The underground compactor gives you more space for greenery, peace, and quiet. Thanks to its extra capacity, much less surface area is needed. In fact, an underground compactor holds 6 to 10 times more waste than a standard underground container. From as few as 100 residential connections, the compacting container already becomes a more cost-effective alternative. Add the savings on expensive square meters, and you’ll see immediate returns!
How does an underground compactor work?
The compactor looks just like a regular container above ground, giving residents a familiar experience. The difference is underground: a compacting mechanism compresses the waste, allowing 6 to 10 times more waste to be stored in the same space.

Sidcon: the specialist in underground waste systems
The underground compactor was invented and designed in 2006 by Sidcon. Over the years, the container has been developed into a powerful and solid container suitable for residual waste, plastic, and paper/cardboard. The type and composition of the waste influences the degree of compaction. Residual waste and paper/cardboard have a compaction ratio of 1:6. Plastic has a compaction ratio of 1:10.
This means you need 5 to 9 fewer containers, saving up to 20 to 48 square meters!
Green, livable, and future-proof
A sidewalk full of life, that’s what we aim for. A green oasis where residents can relax, with trees that cool the surroundings and enough vegetation to absorb heavy rainfall.
The underground compactor makes room for all of this, while saving money at the same time.
