Making and keeping waste collection efficient and sustainable – that’s our mission
Our core mission is making waste collection more efficient and more sustainable, whilst minimising our impact on the environment. We look closely at how innovations go towards attaining these goals. The underground compactor allows for greater capacity in a same-sized concrete well, which means less frequent emptyings. The Freshstation and the Compact makes waste separation in high-rise settings much easier. It means more circularity.
In 2008, after being approached by the city of Arnhem and Circulus (a waste-collection company), Reinier Siderius and Boris Gubbels started designing an underground compactor. Both Arnhem and Circulus were in search of a solution to make the collection of plastic waste more efficient.
Whilst the volume of plastic is large, its weight is small. When this waste is compressed, the result is a more compact waste. After various prototypes, the underground compactor (Presstation Pro), as we now know it, was born. It is a product which looks like a standard underground container so that it can be easily installed without any modifications being required by the waste collector. Nevertheless, with an increased capacity. After the success of this underground compactor, new versions were made available for residual household waste, as well as paper and cardboard.
If you want to do something well, you should do it yourself. We deliver quality across the board. For that reason, we choose to develop, to produce and to service our products in-house. This way we can guarantee quality and do business sustainably and with inclusivity. This also entails making direct improvements and going the extra mile for the customer if required.
With a passion and desire to make a positive impact, at Sidcon we do things together. A positive impact on the climate and on society in general. We have employees who would otherwise face difficulties getting onto the labour market and we are constantly in search of ways to work sustainably and to reduce our carbon footprint. The complete chain is involved in this process.
In order to minimise our carbon footprint and to make this quantifiable, we use the CO2 performance ladder. This is a recognised and certified sustainability tool managed by the SKAO: www.co2-prestatieladder.nl. We have since attained level 5 and also involve our suppliers in this sustainability drive. Read more about the performance ladder (in Dutch), our aims and where we currently stand here.
We are looking for passionate people who take pride in their work and strive towards their own personal development. Your growth means our growth too. We offer you a challenge, and support and encourage you to obtain further qualifications. We have a mix of young and experienced personnel. Together we are building towards a sustainable future.
